We were delighted to be commissioned by Fiona Denholm Interiors to design a range of bespoke cabinetry for Scottish audiovisual equipment company LINN Products’ purpose-built Richard Rogers-designed facility near Glasgow.
Everything bearing the LINN name is designed and manufactured under one roof in Scotland thus creating the best product, using the best materials for the best possible experience. We thought that philosophy sounded familiar so we were keen to be involved….
Of course the kitchen was the obvious place for us to begin. The minimalist white cabinetry with sleek Silestone worktops create a welcome contrast against the timber clad walls & striking blue island. The fully integrated music system remotely controlled by ipad demonstrates LINN’s innate understanding of how todays often fragmented audio & visual systems within our home can be streamlined into one simple to use, but highly versatile package. We in the Murray & Murray office found this article ‘Is the kitchen the new living room’ fascinating:
The bespoke glass paneled screen & doors lead visitors through from the matching reception area to the open plan kitchen, dining & living areas. Note the continuation of the reception counter through the glass into the kitchen.
The office desk too long to be made from a single length of timber was jointed in a fun, jigsaw piece like detail.
The bathroom cabinetry & bench seating demonstrates a continuation of grain in the oak veneer from door to door & drawer front to drawer front creating a modern aesthetic with an obvious hand built quality.
