John Angus
— Edinburgh Showroom Manager & Designer

Working in close collaboration with a client whose personal aesthetic and design ideas are so close to my own was an incredibly rewarding experience. Having to work around some pretty tight planning and space restrictions (and as a result of many hours trading ideas back and forth) the final scheme was more successful than either of us initially expected.

Information

Georgian Townhouse
Midlothian

The brief for this project was to design a collection of contemporary freestanding pieces that provides all the functions required of a kitchen but without “looking like a kitchen”.

In addition, each piece had to have the ability to be picked up and moved should the requirement be called upon.

The juxtaposition of the traditional Georgian features of this property against the simplicity of the modular freestanding furniture is key in preventing the scheme from looking too stark or minimal.
