John Angus
— Edinburgh Showroom Manager & Designer

Great clients who were keen to respect the character of their property whilst updating it to an exceptionally high specification. The existing period features informed the choice of a classic but unfussy cabinetry style. The relationship between the kitchen furniture and the dining room dresser and window seat ensures a cohesion between the two adjacent spaces which was previously missing.

Information

Baronial Villa
Midlothian

The key to this projects success was knowing how to capitalise on the property’s impressive period features and towering high ceilings whilst providing a clean contemporary sociable space for a young modern family.

Careful consideration was given to the proportions and scale of the hand painted shaker style cabinetry, designed with a slender door frame, a traditional framed cabinet construction and polished copper handles and hinges.

The durable yet marble like look of the natural quartzite worktops and pale limestone floor gives a sympathetic nod to the history of the property.
