HEALTH & SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

At Murray and Murray Ltd we are committed to provide a safe and secure working environment to conduct our business activities from, in doing this we strive to minimise any potential loss arising from injuries or ill health to our employees or others, damage to property, or harm to the environment.

It is our aim to:

  • Develop positive Health, Safety & Environmental culture within the organisation through good management
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, taking account of all statutory requirements.
  • Comply with all laws and legislation relating to Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Produce safe systems of working that will reflect industry best practice.
  • Provide safe plant and equipment through planned preventative maintenance.
  • Control any risks identified by risk assessment through the provision of good control measures.
  • Report, Investigate and monitor all accidents/incidents or near miss events.
  • Pursue the highest possible standards in all Health, Safety & Environmental matters.
  • Evaluate energy sources and raw materials so as to reduce our overall impact on the Environment.
  • Employ good waste management techniques to help assist with protecting the Environment.
  • Accept that good Environmental management, together with effective Health & Safety management help contribute towards the success of a good business.

Though the Managing Director has ultimate responsibility to achieve these aims, he shall do so by working closely with the Management team in accepting joint responsibility to continue developing and implementing effective Health, Safety & Environmental management within the Company.

The Company view Health, Safety & Environmental management as a key function of line management by ensuring:

A professional Health, Safety and Environment function exists to promote and provide advice/guidance to management in discharging this responsibility.

All employees are made aware they have a legal responsibility for their own Health and Safety and to that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

The employees are expected to co-operate with the management team at all times to fulfil the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental objectives.

This Policy and supporting arrangements are brought to the attention of its employees, sub-contractors, customers or any other person/s that may be affected by its activities.

This policy is reviewed twice annually and updated as necessary in the light of legislative change or business re-development.
