Case Study 4:
Old Meets New
The Brief:
To design a collection of bespoke cabinetry suitable for a variety of areas within the renovation of a traditional Edwardian house with a contemporary glass extension.
The Solution:
Our approach to the kitchen design was to use traditional, well-crafted materials such as European Oak, American Black Walnut & black granite to reflect the integrity of the original house but to bring it into the 21st Century with the use of clean, simple lines & elements of stainless steel. The cherry bedroom furniture located in the older part of the house was inspired by the traditional architectural mouldings & stained to match other existing freestanding pieces of furniture. The scale had to be grand to be proportionate with the high ceilings but practical storage solutions meant even the higher cupboards were still accessible.
