Case Study 1:
Country Life
The Brief:
To design a variety of interior spaces within an open plan environment flexible enough to suit the requirements of everyday family living. Great emphasis was to be placed on the practicality of the spaces whilst retaining the sense of style & personality of the owners.
The Solution:
The room was sensitively split into three areas by locating the large bespoke dining table centrally between the kitchen & living spaces. The soft exterior curve of the island leads you gently into the room, whilst cleverly defining the kitchen area, protecting those working in the kitchen from the activity in the surrounding dining & living areas. The Lloyd Loom sofa & built-in desk area at the far end allows the children to be close by when watching TV or doing homework whilst still leaving a variety of other informal seating options for the grown ups to grab a quick coffee of lunch. The consistent use of colour, fabrics & materials created a scheme which links the areas together into one harmonious open plan living space.
